Plum jam is made from ripe, soft, and even overripe plums. The plums are washed, pitted, and then pureed and boiled with sugar. Plums contain a fair amount of pectin, which has a gelling effect. This delicacy has a smooth, dense consistency. It's worth noting that plum-only jam is noticeably thinner than, for example, jam made from apples. It has a rich brown color and a sweet and sour taste.
